We build accessible websites for other people, so this one has to hold up to the same standard.

What we target

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. In practice that means:

• Every function works from a keyboard alone, and the focus indicator is always visible.
• Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background, in both light and dark mode.
• Every image carries alternative text, or is marked decorative when it carries no meaning.
• Headings describe the real structure of the page rather than being chosen for their size.
• Form fields have real labels, and errors say what went wrong and how to fix it.
• Motion respects the operating system’s reduce-motion setting.
• The page works at 200% zoom and at 320px wide without horizontal scrolling.

Where we know we fall short

Being honest about this is more useful than a badge. Automated tools catch roughly a third of accessibility problems; the rest need a person. We test with a keyboard and with a screen reader, but we are not a certified audit, and we have not tested every one of the several hundred pages on this site individually.

We do not use an accessibility overlay widget. Overlays are widely opposed by disabled users and by the accessibility community, they frequently break the assistive technology people already use, and they do not make a site legally compliant. Fixing the underlying markup is the only approach that actually works.
